What Electronics We Accept

We buy a wide variety of scrap electronics from residential customers, computer repair shops, and commercial businesses. Examples of items we accept for electronics recycling include:

  • Servers & Networking Gear. Enterprise servers, routers, switches, modems, and telecommunication boards. (Pro-tip: Empty server racks can be weighed on our Steel/Iron scales!)
  • Motherboards. We accept all variations, including Low, Medium, and High-Grade boards.
  • Laptops. Whole laptops, broken or intact.
  • Game Consoles. Old or broken gaming systems (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, etc.).
  • Hard Drives. Internal computer hard drives (we recycle these for the aluminum housing and internal logic boards).
  • Power Supplies & UPS Units. Standard PC power supplies and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) battery backup units.
  • Internal Components. CPUs (processors), RAM (memory sticks), and PCI cards (graphics cards, sound cards).
  • Optical Drives. DVD and CD ROM drives from desktop towers.

What We Don't Accept (Or Downgrade):

To keep our processing safe and adhere to environmental regulations, please be aware of the following restrictions regarding electronics recycling:

  • CRT Monitors & Old Televisions. We generally do not accept old cathode-ray tube (CRT) monitors or box TVs with your standard scrap electronics, as the leaded glass requires specialized hazardous waste processing.
  • Swollen or Leaking Batteries. Lithium-ion batteries found in laptops and phones can be a severe fire hazard if damaged. Please remove swollen batteries before bringing in your laptops.
  • Household Appliances. Microwaves, toasters, and refrigerators are not graded as electronics. These should be sorted into your standard sheet iron or shred steel piles.

Pro-Tips for Maximum Payout

Want to get the top-tier price for your scrap electronics? Follow these preparation steps before you hit the scale:

  • Break Down Whole Towers. While we accept whole PC towers, you will make more money by opening them up and separating the components. Weighing your High-Grade Motherboards, RAM, CPUs, and Power Supplies individually almost always nets a higher payout than a "whole PC" price.
  • Sort Your Boards. High-grade boards (like clean motherboards and telecom boards) pay significantly more than low-grade boards (like brown boards from old stereos). Keep them in separate bins.
  • Cut the Wires. If your power supplies or old components have excessive wiring, snip them off and add them to your Insulated Copper Wire bin to maximize your return on our Copper scales.
  • Remove the Batteries. Pop out the batteries from motherboards and standard battery packs from laptops.

A Note on Data Security

As a scrap metal recycler, our primary focus is physically destroying these components to extract raw metals. Since materials are processed in bulk, we highly recommend that commercial businesses and residential customers take charge of their own data security prior to recycling.

Note: Always wipe your data, remove sensitive storage drives, or physically drill through your hard drive platters before bringing your computers and servers in for electronics recycling.
